Christina Czekala Organizes Event to Help Troops

2015 Oct 5

Christina Czekala of Champaign, IL, is among a group of students from Lakeview College of Nursing who have organized a Laser Tag for Troops event at Fluid Event Center located at 601 North Country Fair Drive in Champaign, IL on October 10 from 1 - 4 p.m.

The event is free to the public, however donations will be accepted at the door to benefit Operation Care Package. This effort sends care packages overseas to active duty men and women. Each care package costs $25 and could include either basic items like protein bars, batteries, deodorant, and shaving cream, etc., or specialty items like a hot plate, coffee grinder, CDs, DVDs, guitars, and harmonicas.

Czekala and the other Lakeview students decided to pursue this effort with Operation Care Package because each member of the group has friends or family who are active duty military personnel or veterans. They wanted to give back to those who make the ultimate sacrifice.

For more information about this event please contact Lakeview College of Nursing at 217-709-0920 for the Danville Campus or 217-345-3575 for the Charleston Campus.

Lakeview College of Nursing has provided excellence in nursing education since 1894. Lakeview currently offers a bachelor of science in nursing degree program in Danville as well as Charleston, Illinois.
