Deanna Tuggle to Participate in Community Health Fair

2015 Feb 27

A group of students from Lakeview College of Nursing will participate in Livin' It UP Community Health Fair on Saturday, February 28 from 11 am to 3 pm at 107 North Kentucky Ave., Rantoul, IL. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.

Living it UP is a community based outreach program with the goal of promoting health and education for the members of the Chlampaign-Urbana community. Through the partnership with Lakeview College of Nursing, free health screenings, free messages, and more services will be offered to anyone who attends the event. Information on the day of silence as well as services offered by the UP Center of Champaign County will also be available.

Deanna Tuggle of Hoopeston, IL, is one of the LCN group members. The group decided to pursue this opportunity with The UP Center of Champaign County in order to promote awareness for anti-bullying campaigns (especially among the younger generation), and to provide sex education to the community. Each member of the group has either known or been personally effected by an act of bullying. By putting on this health fair the group hopes to educate and support others who know or have been personally victimized by a bully as well as empower the community to take a stand to help those who need support.

For more information about this event, please contact Lakeview College of Nursing at 217-709-0920.

Lakeview College of Nursing has provided excellence in nursing education since 1894. Lakeview currently offers a bachelor of science in nursing degree program in Danville, IL, as well as Charleston, IL.
