Jessica Wellman Helps Organize Blood Drive and Flu Clinic

Jessica Wellman of Claytonville, IL, has helped organize a blood drive and flu clinic exclusively for the students, faculty and staff of Lakeview College of Nursing.

The blood drive is being held today from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the flu clinic will be held on Tuesday, October 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Both events are being held exclusively for the students, faculty and staff of Lakeview College of Nursing and will be held at their Danville Campus located at 903 North Logan Ave. in Danville, IL.

Wellman worked with a few other students to organize these events as part of their legacy project, a senior-level course requirement. The students say they organized the events in order to promote health and wellness within the school.

Additionally, group members say it is their job as future nurses to educate patients. The students mentioned that according to the Community Blood Service of Illinois 1 in 7 patients will require a blood transfusion.
