Kelly Cronley Planning to Participate in Fundraiser to Help Wishes Come True

2014 Sep 12

A group of students from Lakeview College of Nursing will participate in Walk and Run for Wishes at Hessel Park in Champaign, Illinois on September 27, 2014. The public is invited to attend the walk and help Lakeview College of Nursing students by donating to this wonderful cause. Registration opens at 8:00a.m.and the race begins at 9:30 a.m. Costumes are encouraged to capture the creative nature of wishes.

Cronley and other Lakeview students decided to pursue this effort with the Make-A-Wish organization because each member of the group is interested in working in areas to help children and make a difference in the lives of their families.

Group member Kelly Cronley said, "Although none of us have children that have had to face the difficulties and sadness these children and families have had to, I am a mother and this hits close to home. I try to put myself in the position of the parents and I know how grateful I would be to have the help of others to brighten my child's day and making just one of their wishes come true."

Make-A-Wish Illinois grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions and since 1985, has granted more than 12,000 wishes across the state of Illinois. The student group hopes to bring awareness to this organization as well as donations in order to make wishes come true.
