Tracy Hill to Assist Veterans

2015 Nov 5

Tracy Hill is among a group of Lakeview College of Nursing students in cooperation with Dinosores MC, who will be delivering supplies and donations to benefit the veterans of Champaign and Vermilion County.

The senior nursing students are excited to be assisting in the delivery of these items as part of their capstone nursing course for senior students. The supplies will be delivered to the VA Illiana Health Care System located at 1900 E. Main St. in Danville on Saturday, November 7th from Noon to 1 p.m.

The students assessed the community and found that their local veterans were in need of a lot of assistance so they joined Dinosores MC in collecting donations to help support their cause in helping the local veterans. Clothing, snacks and games were collected to aid the effort.

Throughout this process the nursing students say they have all learned that it takes a team effort to provide the best quality care to our community and that they have to challenge the community to honor our veterans, adapt a new way of thinking by giving wholeheartedly, and explore new avenues to provide care.
