Danville, IL (12/26/2024) — Five new members were recently inducted into Lakeview College of Nursing's (LCN) Sigma Theta Tau - Alpha Alpha Alpha Delta Chapter during a fall ceremony.
New members of the honor society included the following LCN students:
Tyranny Davis of Champaign, IL
Madalyn Goble of Rossville, IL
Xitlally Bonilla of Danville, IL
Erica Stevenson of St. Joseph, IL
Natalie Zizumbo of Onarga, IL
To receive an invitation to join Sigma, the students must have completed at least half of the nursing curriculum, achieve academic excellence with a grade point average at or above 3.0, rank in the highest 35 percent of the graduating class, and meet the expectation of academic integrity.
The keynote speaker for the event was Brittany Lawson, MSN, RN. Lawson, who is the Dean of Nursing and an Assistant Professor at LCN, has been employed at the College since 2019.
Lawson spoke about how each member being inducted not only meets the criteria for induction but also upholds Sigma's values of love, honor & courage. She presented a coin of appreciation to Tyranny Davis for exemplifying those traits through a specific instance that the leadership of the Alpha Alpha Alpha Delta Chapter of Sigma felt deserved special recognition.
