Lakeview College of Nursing is a specialized, single-purpose institution of higher learning that offers a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) Program in Danville and Charleston, IL.    

Students enjoy a variety of clinical experiences with over 600 hours of direct patient care and gain skills with life-like simulated nursing lab equipment and open lab sessions.

Overall, the mission of Lakeview is to be a dynamic center of educational excellence as a diverse and inclusive College community that works together, exemplifying adaptability, integrity, and caring. The College will be forefront to the trends in health care and committed to nursing as a profession by preparing safe, competent, patient-centered, caring professional nurses for leadership, service, and practice for the advancement of the nursing profession.

Students Volunteer at Camp New Hope Fall Family Fun Fest

Several Lakeview College of Nursing students volunteered at Camp New Hope this fall. Camp New Hope is a year-round recreational experience for those who are eight years old and above with developmental and physical disabilities. Their annual Fall Family Fun Fest is a fundraiser to benefit the camp and generate funds to allow for financial assistance for families. The event includes a 5K fun run/walk, a car show, inflatables, carnival games, food trucks, boat and train rides, and music.

Lakeview Students Volunteer at Special Olympics

This fall, several Lakeview College of Nursing students volunteered to help with the Special Olympics Family Festival at Lake Land Community College in Mattoon, IL. The mission of the Special Olympics of Illinois is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.

A group of students from Lakeview College of Nursing have organized a blood drive from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the College's Danville Campus located at 903 North Logan Ave. The flu clinic will be held on Tuesday, October 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the same location. Both events are exclusively for the students, faculty and staff of Lakeview College of Nursing.

Nursing Students Seek Support for Family with Autistic Children

A group of students from Lakeview College of Nursing will participate in a Rally for Autism through an on-line fundraiser campaign, http://www.youcaring.com/help-a-neighbor/conrad-family-fundraiser-/293778, that will be held on April 11, 2015. The students decided to get involved in order to raise awareness for autism by raising funds. They encourage anyone with an interest and ability to donate. Gifts of any size are welcome. All proceeds will be given to a family from Flora, IL, to help pay for the extensive therapies their two autistic sons require.

A group of students from Lakeview College of Nursing will participate in teaching at Cross Point: Women's Shelter (YWCA) on Wed., April 8 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The information will focus on sexually transmitted infection prevention and family planning. The students recognized a need after noticing a high rate of STIs and teen pregnancy within Vermilion County, IL.
