Several students were elected to Student Government Association (SGA) officer positions for the Spring 2020 semester. SGA officers are elected on both the Danville and Charleston Campuses of Lakeview College of Nursing for the fall and spring semesters. SGA provides several College-wide mechanisms for students to give input or to raise issues. Students review and coordinate student government business and serve as ex-officio members on organizational committees. Lakeview's SGA allows students to participate in shared governance of the College.

The DAISY Foundation was established in 1999 in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at the age of 33, from complications of an auto-immune disease. Patrick's family was very touched by the remarkable compassion and clinical skill demonstrated by Patrick's nurses during his illness, so they created DAISY to recognize exceptional nurses everywhere. LCN has partnered with DAISY to present awards to extraordinary nursing students and faculty members.
