Lakeview Faculty Members Promoted

Danville , IL (03/07/2017) — Lanette Stuckey, of Effingham, IL, and Ariel Wright, of Danville, IL, were each promoted from instructor to assistant professor at Lakeview College of Nursing. 

Stuckey, who holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Lakeview College of Nursing and a master’s degree in nursing from Kaplan University, is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in nursing from Capella University. 

She began teaching full-time at Lakeview in the fall of 2014.  While at Lakeview, she has taught mostly mid to high-level medical surgical courses as well as clinicals for medical-surgical nursing courses. 

Stuckey is also a member of the College’s administrative team and currently serves as chair of the College’s professional development committee.  Twice a year she also organizes a triage day and an NCLEX-RN Bootcamp for students who are nearing graduation requirements. 

Wright, who holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Lakeview College of Nursing and a master’s degree in nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing, is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in nursing from Capella University.

She began teaching full-time at Lakeview in the fall of 2013.  She has experience instructing nursing research, nursing ethics, community health nursing, and high-level medical-surgical nursing courses. 

Wright is also a member of the College’s administrative team and currently serves as chair of the College’s curriculum committee.  Twice a year she also organizes a triage day and an NCLEX-RN Bootcamp for students who are nearing graduation requirements. 

After applying for promotion, Stuckey and Wright had to demonstrate effectiveness in teaching as well as scholarship and service.  Both appointments were approved by members of Lakeview’s professional development committee, the dean of nursing, the president of the College, the board of director’s professional affairs committee and the College’s full board of directors.

Lakeview College of Nursing offers a bachelor of science in nursing degree. It is a single-purpose, private institution that has specialized in nursing education in the Danville, IL area since 1894. Lakeview began offering a cooperative program with Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL, in the fall of 2001.
